Traveling incognito as "Christopher Trevenna," the exiled Spanish nobleman Cristóbal de Casa Triana motors to Biarritz with his American friend Dick Waring to catch a glimpse of the King of Spain's motorcade. Trailing the royal cars, he falls instantly for Lady Monica Vale, a friend of the King's fiancée — a chance meeting that draws him back toward the Spain his own family was banished from.

C. N. and A. M. Williamson published the novel — issued in Britain as The Car of Destiny and Its Errand in Spain — in 1906.

Bibliomancer restores the 1906 text exactly as the Williamsons wrote it.
