Accessibility
Reading should be comfortable for everyone.
It aims for WCAG 2.2 AA across the site and the reader, and it would like to hear where it falls short.
- Semantic HTML, landmark regions and a skip link on every page; visible focus states; full keyboard operation of the catalog and reader (← → chapters, t contents, s settings, b bookmark, / search).
- Colour contrast at or above 4.5:1 for text; three reader themes (light, paper, dark); adjustable type size, line height, measure and alignment; EB Garamond is paired with a high-contrast reading surface.
- Reduced-motion preferences are respected throughout the site.
- Chapter pages are server-rendered plain HTML — they work without JavaScript and in text browsers and screen readers, with headings and footnote roles marked up.
