Accessibility

Reading should be comfortable for everyone.

We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA across the site and the reader, and we would like to hear where we fall short.

  • Semantic HTML, landmark regions and a skip link on every page; visible focus states; full keyboard operation of the catalog, cart, checkout and reader (← → chapters, t contents, s settings, b bookmark, / search).
  • Colour contrast at or above 4.5:1 for text; three reader themes (light, paper, dark); adjustable type size, line height, measure and alignment; EB Garamond is paired with a high-contrast reading surface.
  • Reduced-motion preferences are respected. Decorative machine movement stops when reduced motion is requested.
  • Chapter pages are server-rendered plain HTML — they work without JavaScript and in text browsers and screen readers, with headings and footnote roles marked up.
  • Print editions use a 10.5 pt text face with generous leading; large-print editions are on our roadmap.

If something does not work for you, tell us and we will fix it.
