Cynthia’s Chauffeur
On Derby Day, Viscount Medenham lends a hand when an old army friend's motorcar breaks down and — almost on a whim — takes the wheel himself, posing as the chauffeur "George Augustus Fitzroy" to drive the American heiress Cynthia Vanrenen and her scheming chaperone Mrs. Devar from London to Brighton. He falls for Cynthia before the first day is out, with no way to tell her who he really is without giving up the disguise.
Louis Tracy published the novel in 1910.
