Helen Zimmern
1846–1934
Helen Zimmern (1846–1934) was born in Hamburg and grew up in England. A writer, translator and journalist, she knew Nietzsche personally in the 1880s; her translation of Beyond Good and Evil (1906) was part of the first authorised English edition of his works. She also wrote studies of Schopenhauer and Lessing and lived for many years in Florence.
