Bram Stoker

1847–1912

Bram Stoker (1847–1912) was born in Dublin, was a civil servant and theatre critic there, and from 1878 spent nearly thirty years in London as business manager to the actor Henry Irving at the Lyceum Theatre. He wrote novels and stories alongside that work; Dracula (1897) is the one that lasted.
